FARMINGTON — Kelley and Arvid Cullenberg have formed a USA Track and Field certified club in response to the Farmington Recreation Department dropping the youth summer track program. The Sandy River Track Club is independent from the Town of Farmington and is open for youth ages 6 to 14 who are residents of Franklin County (summer or permanent).

Sign-ups will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, in room 106 at Mt. Blue High School. The schedule will be the same as the former recreation department program. Practices will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, beginning June 15, at the high school.

There will be six regular meets on Thursdays, beginning July 1, and ending with the State Meet on Saturday, Aug. 14. The fee is $35 each athlete, which covers USA Track and Field required membership, liability insurance and meet entry fees.

Each athlete will also need to purchase a team singlet, which can be used for multiple seasons. Families are responsible for arranging rides to meets. For more information, contact Kelley or Arvid Cullenberg at 778-4971.
