The Hebron Academy Middle School sixth-grade class recently spent an afternoon creating works of art out of nature. Art teacher Mary Anderson talked with the students about artist/naturalist Andrew Goldsworthy and how he makes impermanent works of art out of natural objects and in nature. The students viewed examples of his work and then set off to construct their own. Students found dandelions, pine cones, sticks and even an apple. The kids had fun experiencing nature in a new way. Nathaniel Bennett of Oxford is pictured beginning work on his work of art. For more information on the middle school, visit www.hebronacademy.org or call 966-2100.
