LEWISTON — FISC Solutions’ Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Kristine Avery, SPHR, was recently awarded the 2010 Maine Human Resources Leader of the Year Award by the Society for Human Resource Management, Maine State Council.

SHRM is the world’s largest organization dedicated exclusively to the human resource profession. The Institute’s purpose is to promote the establishment of professional standards and to recognize professionals who meet those standards.

The distinguished award was presented at the annual Maine human resources convention held at the Samoset Resort in Rockland on May 13. The annual award recognizes an active Maine human resources leader who exemplifies excellence in the human resource profession. The award is given to recognize one’s service to the Maine human resource community, advancement of the human resource profession, and presented to a professional regarded as a leader and role model by peers and the business community.

Avery has extensive experience in human resources management. In her current role at FISC Solutions as the Senior Vice President of HR, she has led the human resource and training and development function since 2000. She earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources accreditation in 2007 and has served as an instructor for the University of Southern Maine’s Human Resources Certification Preparatory Course for the past three years. In addition, she serves as the president of the Human Resources Association of Southern Maine and as the deputy director of the SHRM Maine State Council. She is also a board member for Casco Federal Credit Union and the Windham Nazarene Church.
