RAYMOND — Leslie “Jim” Stephenson of Raymond has declared his intention to run for the Maine House representing District 103, which includes Raymond, Frye Island, parts of Poland and Standish. He is running as a Clean Elections candidate.

Stephenson is the founder of Jordan Bay Animal Hospital, as well as co-chair of the Comprehensive Plan Committee in Raymond. A Democrat who is now semi-retired from clinical practice, Stephenson started three small businesses during his career. He practiced veterinary medicine in Raymond until 2007 and currently owns and manages a seven-state veterinary business management consulting company.

His public service includes tenures as public health officer, Boy Scout Committee chairman, a member of the “302 and You” corridor improvement committee and member of the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee. 

Stephenson and his wife of 29 years, Judy, have raised five children and continue to reside in Raymond. Judy is his campaign treasurer.
