OXFORD — Brigadier General Frances Auclair will be the speaker at Memorial Day services to be held Monday, May 31, at Veterans’ Park.

There will be a parade at 9 a.m., beginning at the Oxford Elementary School and ending at the Post home. A ceremony will be held at the park, which will include Auclair’s address.

Auclair is the assistant adjutant general – air, Maine, and also serves as the commander of the Maine Air National Guard. She is the principal advisor to the governor and the adjutant general on matters pertaining to the Maine Air National Guard.

Auclair originally enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman in 1972. She joined the Maine Air National Guard in 1979.

Anderson Staples Post 112 welcomes those interested in hearing Auclair to join them at the Post home on King Street.
