Benefit breakfast

NORWAY — The Mission Committee of the Second Congregational Church of Norway will sponsor an all-you-can-eat benefit breakfast for the Laufer family, whose home was damaged by arson earlier in the month. The breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at the church, 205 Main St.

Cost is $7 for adults; $4 for children 5 to 12; free for children under 5. Families of more than five people will pay $25. The breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, homefries, sausage gravy, biscuits and beverages. To make reservations or for more information, call the church office at 743-2290.

Society meeting

OXFORD — Members of the Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, June 25, at the Kay House Museum on Pleasant Street. There will be a business meeting and refreshments.

Open mic night

NORWAY — Vessel Recordings artist Heather Pierson will host an open mic night on Friday, June 25, at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St. Sign-up will be at 6:30 p.m. and the open mic will be at 7 p.m. Cost is $3 at the door. Donations of food for the Oxford Hills Food Pantry will also be welcome.

Bridge play

OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met June 18 at its new location, the Recreation Center, 221 King St. A six-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in flight A were Paul Kahl and Nick Karamessinis; second, Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements; third, Pat and Mike Quinn. First in flight B, Marilyn and Richard Canton; second, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; third, Bob Kirchherr and Denny Raymond.

Benefit supper

OXFORD — A potluck benefit supper for Becky Smith will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the Old Fire Station, King Street. The cost is $6; kids 12 and under, $3.

Strawberry Festival

LOCKE MILLS — The Locke Mills Union Church will host a Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 26. Belgian waffles, shortcakes and sundaes, pies, baked goods and strawberries will be served from 7:30 a.m. until sold out.

Yard sale

OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society will have a yard and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the Kay House Museum on Pleasant Street.
