BRIDGTON — Bridgton Hospital announces the recipients of the HEROES Awards for employees. They are: Doreen Carpenter, a member of the Bridgton Internal Medicine staff; Nancy Gilman, a member of the Bridgton Hospital dietary services staff; and Ronda Kenney, a certified nurses aide on the Bridgton Hospital inpatient unit.

HEROES stands for Healthcare Employees Reaching Out with Exceptional Services. HEROES was developed by the Central Maine Medical Family to honor employees who demonstrate the system’s core values of compassion, citizenship, integrity, service, excellence and commitment.

Each year, one employee from the physician practices, one nurse and one non-nursing employee are selected by senior management from nominations submitted by hospital staff members. The three HEROES for 2010 were recently announced and honored in surprise presentations by their managers and John Ludwig, vice president of administration.

Carpenter, a resident of Albany Township, has been employed at the hospital since 1992 and was named to the HEROES roster from the physician practices.

Kenney is the 2010 HEROES program choice for nursing. She is a certified nurses aide and resident of Standish who joined the hospital staff in 2007.

Gilman, who lives in Sebago, was selected for HEROES as the nonnursing hospital employee. She is a member of the dietary services staff and joined it in 1998.
