Library program

MEXICO — As part of the Mexico Public Library’s “Terrific Tuesdays” summer programs for kids ages 2 to 14, the library will host Rob White, the Snake Man, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 6.

White will present a fun and informative program with his many snakes. It will be a hands-on presentation, so that participants can touch and even hold the snakes, if they wish.

The program is for kids of all ages and will be held at the Calvin Lyons Hall, in the basement of the Mexico Town Hall building. For more information, call the library at 364-3281.

Senior trips

RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Citizens have announced the following trips: Thursday, Aug. 5, to Rye, N.H., for a whale watch. The bus will leave the center at 8 a.m. Cost is $45. Participants may bring a bag lunch or eat at the Snack Shack.

Thursday, Aug. 19, to Hollywood Slots, Bangor. Cost is $25. The bus will leaves the center at 8 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.

The sign up sheets are at the Senior Center. Everyone is welcome to attend the trips. There will be no regular meetings until Sept. 22.

Church services

RUMFORD — The Rumford United Methodist Church will be changing the times of the Sunday services on July 4. The adult Bible class will be at 9:30 a.m. and the service will be at 11 a.m. On that day, the congregation will welcome Pastor Carol Stevens as their new Pastor-in-Charge.

Stevens has been transferred from Boothbay Harbor. Former pastor, Kelly Harvell, has been transferred to serve two churches in the Bethlehem, N.H. area.
