SABATTUS — Craig S. Wood, 56, of Nason Rock Road, Greene, died Sunday, June 27, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born June 17, 1954, a son of Frank Wood Jr. and Doris (Rice) McDonald. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Monmouth Academy, Class of 1973. He was a custodian for Oak Hill High School for many years.

He was an avid outdoorsman from an early age, with a passion for hunting, trapping and fishing. Later in life, he used this passion to become a Maine State Guide, something he always dreamed of doing. Those who knew him know how much he loved his music and how he enjoyed playing his guitar for his family. He will be greatly missed.

He leaves his father, Frank Wood Jr. of Gray; his mother, Doris McDonald and her husband, Cliff, of Augusta; a son, Dwayne Wood and his fiance, Denise Spencer, of New Gloucester; two daughters, Nancy Wood and her companion, James May, of Lewiston and Jennifer Lemay and her husband, Brad, of Sabattus; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Lemay; a grandson, Owen Wood; a brother, Kirk Wood and his wife, Robin, of West Gardiner; a sister, Sheryl Hutchins and her husband, Richard, of Windham; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his stepmother, Ruth Wood.
