FREEPORT — On Saturday and Sunday, July 3-4, there will be a host of outdoor activities and live entertainment from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the downtown and on the L.L. Bean campus. Fireworks will follow at about 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.

At 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, Maine native Johnny Hiland and his band will give a free outdoor concert at Bean’s Discovery Park. Hiland has recorded with greats like Randy Travis, Ricky Skaggs and Toby Keith. His latest album, “Loud and Proud,” features guest appearances by Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill.

On Saturday at noon, Good Rockin’ Daddies, an eclectic four-piece band blending rock ‘n’ roll, blues, old country, reggae and polka, will perform fun music for kids about reading, recycling, water conservation — even catching frogs. The performance will be at Discovery Park.

At 2 p.m., Michael Trautman, a visual comic, performance artist, new vaudevillian, storyteller and magician, will take the stage. He has appeared at such prestigious venues as the New York International Festival of Clown Theater, Festival D’Ete in Quebec, the General Jackson Showboat at Opryland USA and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Then at 4 p.m., Two, a high-energy juggling duo (Matt and Jason Tardy) will perform. The brothers have toured professionally at theaters, colleges and resorts for 14-plus years, with appearances in the Bahamas and Reno, Nev., as well as the White House.

Sunday, July 4, will kick off with a 10K race at 7:30 a.m., followed by a Fun Run/Walk at 9:15 a.m. For more information, visit llbeanroadrace.com.

Other activities include an appearance by Maine humorist and storyteller John McDonald; geocaching, an adventure treasure hunt with L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools; face-painting; animal masks with VSA Maine; a book signing with “A Passion for Sea Glass” photographer Amy Wilton; the town’s Fourth of July parade; workshops on family camping and archery at L.L. Bean; and fireworks.
