Third-grade teacher Jackie Pettengill gestures as she guides her student group to the next station during the recent Litchfield Forestry Day. Her group just completed their rotation through “animal signs” led by Tamara Whitmore from the Friends of Cobbesse Watershed, one of six stations set up at Smithfield Plantation. The students attended the fourth annual forestry field day held on the site, learning about forestry, ecology and biology.
