FARMINGTON — Hartley L. Tirrell, 80, of Livermore, passed away peacefully at Sandy River Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation on Tuesday, June 29.

He was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Hartford, the son of Harley and Muriel (Foote) Tirrell Sr. On Nov. 12, 1954, he married Joyce Doyen, the love of his life.

He ran Livermore Garage in Livermore for several years. He worked at Boise Cascade in Rumford for more than 25 years before his retirement in 1992.

He loved to fish and garden and especially enjoyed helping his son, Randy, saw lumber and run his wood splitter. He enjoyed walking in the woods and looking at the trees.

Besides his wife, Joyce, he is survived by a son, Randy Tirrell of Livermore; a daughter, Rhonda Souther and her husband, Ernie Souther, of Livermore Falls; seven grandchildren, Jessica Gabbard, Aric Pickens, Brent Tirrell, Destiny Chretien, Gabe Souther, Bryun Souther and Corrie Souther; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert TIrrell and his wife, Sharon, of Falmouth.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Tirrell of Scarborough.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Sandy River Nursing Home staff for the loving care they provided these past few weeks and also for the wonderful care and love given to him by his caregivers while he was at home.
