Festival Friday concert
On Friday, July 2, the Bowdoin International Music Festival will present the first of six Festival Friday concerts, featuring an international roster of performing artists. The first program will feature three works by Robert Schumann and two principals from the New York Philharmonic. Three Romances, Op. 91, will be performed by the Philharmonic’s principal oboist Liang Wang, above, and pianist Elinor Freer. Performing Schumann’s Quintet in E flat Major for Piano and Strings, Op. 44, will be Glenn Dicterow, the New York Philharmonic’s concertmaster. Dicterow will be joined by his wife, violist Karen Dreyfus; Schumann Competition winner and pianist Emma Tahmizian; cellist Steven Doane; and violinist Ray Chen.
