FARMINGTON — Sewell D. Norton, 92, a resident of Federal Road, Livermore, died early Thursday, July 1, at Sandy River Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1917, in Livermore, the son of George D. and Ida May (Bisbee) Norton. He attended school in Livermore. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in North Africa and Italy.

On Nov. 27, 1947, in Turner, he married his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Poland. He worked as a truck driver for Isaccson Lumber in Livermore Falls, then Berry Hill in Livermore for 27 years until his retirement.

Sewell took great pride in the fact that he built his own home in Livermore. He liked to keep busy and enjoyed mowing his lawn and being a handy man around the house.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Livermore; his daughter, Sharon Williams and her husband, Roger, of Livermore; his brother, Mason Norton and his wife, Luella, of Norway; three grandchildren, Charles, Christina and Cynthia; and six great-grandchildren.
