Square dance

SOUTH PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will host its annual ice cream social with square dancing and round dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street. The caller will be Walt Bull and the cuer will be Bernie Porter.

Admission is $6 each person but nondancers are welcome to come to watch at no charge. Casual dress is suggested. Refreshments will be served at intermission. Concert

WILTON — The Wilton Historical Society will sponsor the annual Old Crow Band concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Bass Park gazebo at the foot of Wilson Lake. All are welcome to attend. Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic and lawn chair or listen from the water in a boat. For more information, call Pam Brown at 645-2091.

Annual meeting

LITCHFIELD — The Tacoma Lakes Improvement Society annual meeting will be held on Saturday, July 10, at the Sportsman’s Club. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and will include scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, coffee, juice and milk. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.

Society meeting

LISBON FALLS— The Lisbon Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at the MTM Center, 18 School St., Rooms 5 and 6. The guest speaker will be Fred Goldrup, aka Taurus the Clown, who will tell the story behind his life as Taurus the Clown. Goldrup, who now lives in Lewiston, will most likely visit the Lisbon area during the Moxie Festival, July 9 through 11.

The historical society will be open on Moxie Festival weekend on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday noon to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, the one-room school will be open from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, contact Dorothy Smith at 353-8510.

Grange meeting

NEW GLOUCESTER — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet for supper at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Sabbathday Lake Grange. The program will begin at 7:30 and will feature a speaker from Life Flight and also a 50/50 raffle and attendance drawing. The business meeting will follow. All members and guests are welcome.

Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club held its Tuesday quarterly Club Championship game on June 29 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Overall winners were: first, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, David Lock and Patricia Garcia.

North/South winners in Flight A were: first, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, Marta Clements and Claire Lyons; third, Nancy Lindgren and Nancy Farmer. Flight B winners were: first, Marta Clements and Claire Lyons; second, Mary Anne Trafton and Kathleen Burden.

East/West winners in Flight A were: first, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; second, Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier; third, Linda Leotoski and Jan Arey. Flight B winners were Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier. Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the center.

The club also held its Wednesday quarterly Club Championship game on June 30 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Overall winners in Flight A were Paul Barber and Luke Merry; second, Richard Gauthier and Michael Smith; third, David Lock and Jeanine Kivus; fourth, Jeff Martin and Arthur Franz. Winners in Flight B were Jeff Martin and Arthur Franz.

Anotheer game will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed at both games. For further information, call Lucille Theriault at 783-0431.
