FARMINGTON — The Maine Jazz Camp will return to Farmington, for two weeks, starting Sunday, July 11. Under the direction of jazz vocalist Christine Correa, the Maine Jazz Camp will offer students the opportunity to work with some of the greatest jazz educators and most vital players working in jazz today.

The public will also have the opportunity to hear the players as they take turns leading performances. The performances are free, but donations will be accepted for the camp scholarships. The faculty performances are held at 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, in C131 Roberts Learning Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. Student performances are held at 6:30 p.m. Fridays and at 10 a.m. Saturdays.

The first week, starting on July 11, will feature Jeremy Udden on sax; Ben Waltzer, piano; Matt Pavolka, bass; Mark Ferber, drums; Alan Ferber, trombone; Pete McCann, guitar; Jeremy Udden, sax; and David Scott, trumpet.

The second week, which starts on July 18, will feature Frank Carlberg on piano; Michael Formanek, bass; Richie Barshay, drums; Curtis Fowlkes, trombone; Kenny Wessel, guitar; John O’Gallagher, alto sax; and John Carlson, trumpet.
