LEWISTON — Jeannine C. Monier, 78, of 2 North Mountain Road, Greene, died Sunday, July 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 14, 1932, the daughter of Omer and Carmen Berube Canuel. Educated in local schools, she was employed for many years as a manager at Frank C. Meyer Co., worked in area mills, and was employed as a secretary by the Maine State Retirement System.

She was married to Alphonse Monier, who passed away on June 17, 1986. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she often attended Masses at the St. Francis Mission in Greene. An avid reader, she also enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Lajoie of Greene and Brian Lajoie and wife, Catherine, of Lewiston; three brothers, Omer Canuel and wife, Terry, Roger Canuel and Roland Canuel and wife, Anita, all of Lewiston; two sisters, Muriel and husband, Carroll Minkowsky, of Monmouth and Lillian and husband, Marcel Morin, of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Royce Lajoie and Hanna-Jean Lajoie; and four great-grandchildren, Chandler, Mason, Colby and Jordyn.
