A lieutenant with the Maine State Police recently graduated from the FBI’s National Academy in Quantico.

Lt. Thomas Kelly of Lewiston was among the 260 graduates representing 49 states, the District of Columbia, 25 countries, four military organizations and four federal agencies.

The elite program held at the FBI Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced leadership, investigative, management and fitness training. FBI Director Robert Mueller was the keynote speaker during the June 18 ceremony.

Kelly joined the State Police in 1988. He is currently the troop commander for the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, also known as Troop K.

He resides in Lewiston with his wife, Donna, son Brandon and daughter Micaela.
