BOSTON — Lewiston native Hilary Anne Walker will appear as Cherubino in Boston Opera Collaborative’s “The Marriage of Figaro” on July 16, 18 and 24 at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Performed in Italian with English supertitles, the opera features music by Mozart with a libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte.
Based on a French farce that was widely condemned for its portrayal of inter-class conflict, “The Marriage of Figaro” bristles with back stabbing, lovesickness, trickery and some of opera’s most memorable music.
Friday/Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Tower Auditorium on the college campus, 621 Huntington Ave. Sunday’s performance is at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission, $15 for students and seniors (65+). For tickets, call (617) 517-5883 or visit www.bostonoperacollaborative.org.
