LEWISTON — The Timothy J. Mynahan Foundation has announced the TJM Scholarship recipients for 2010. The $2,500 scholarships have been awarded to Jill St. Laurent and Kurtis John Stocker, both 2010 graduates of Lewiston High School.

Criteria for selection of the scholarships are based on academic and athletic excellence and commendable leadership ability.

St. Laurent and Stocker are both varsity athletes who have excelled and demonstrated leadership in their chosen sports. Coupled with their athletic and leadership attributes, both students have also achieved academic excellence throughout their high school years.

Both are members of the National Honor Society and recipients of numerous awards that highlight their desire and perseverance to achieve excellence. Distinguishing themselves through commitment to success, academically and athletically, they have established remarkable leadership by example.

Both students have also displayed a sense of community as demonstrated by their involvement in community based youth programs.

St. Laurent will attend Smithfield College in Rhode Island. Stocker will attend Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Penn.
