LEWISTON — Edward and Elianne Samson of Lewiston recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Party host was Joan Colvin, sister of Mr. Samson. Jared and Jordyn Rubin, grandchildren of Mrs. Colvin served as ushers.

Their wedding album was displayed and a sit-down buffet was served. Sitting at the head table with them was Mr. and Mrs. Robert Colvin, Rita Nowakowski of Massachusetts, sister of Mrs. Samson, and Muriel Guerrette, a sister-in-law of Lewiston.

Mr. and Mrs. Samson were married at St. Lawrence O’Toole in Hartford, Conn., on June 18, 1960.

Friends and relatives came as far as New Brunswick, Canada, up-state New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Mr. Samson is retired from the U.S. Postal Service and Mrs. Samson from Geiger Bros. They co-founded American Engraving and Awards in 1980 and operated the business until 1997 when it was sold. They traveled extensively on their motorcycle all over the U.S. and Canada for more than 20 years with friends and members of Maine Retreads XL-Plus motorcycle association.
