Meredith Skibitsky, daughter of Gene and Leslie Skibitsky of Dixfield, has been awarded a full scholarship to Smith College in Northhampton, Mass. for pursuit of a master’s degree in deaf education through the Clarke School for Hearing and Speech.
Skibitsky graduated in the class of 2010 from the University of Maine at Orono, where she transferred after two years at the University of Maine at Farmington to pursue her undergraduate degree in communication and speech disorders.
Throughout her undergraduate career she maintained a grade point average of greater than 3.80, attaining dean’s list distinction in all eight semesters. She is a member of NSSHLA and the Golden Key Honor Society. She is a 2005 graduate of Dirigo High School.
