WILTON — “Greater Purpose” will be in concert at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 8, at the East Wilton Union Church, for the church’s 2010 Concerts on the Lawn series.

The Christian band performs songs that are scriptural, but are written based on the members’ lives, are from the heart and are meant to minister to others, both believers and nonbelievers. Their sound is influenced from such performers as John Denver, Sandi Patty, Dan Fogelberg and The Gaithers.

The concerts are free and there will be an opportunity for a free-will offering. All concerts will be on the church lawn unless it rains, in which case the festivities will be moved inside. A time of food and fellowship will follow each concert. All are invited to attend and may bring a lawn chair or blanket.
