LEWISTON — Arthur G. Bouchard Sr., 82, of Spruce Street, Rumford, died Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born June 7, 1928, in Rumford, the son of Arthur P. and Marjorie (Noble) Bouchard. He attended Rumford schools. He worked for Hale Mill and then for Boise Cascade in Rumford on the shipping platform.

Arthur was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church and was also a member of the Greater Rumford Senior Citizens. He loved to travel and enjoyed going to McDonalds and Dick’s Restaurant to socialize with his friends.

He was married in Mexico on July 30, 1948, to the late Barbara Philbrick, who died in Portland on Feb. 23, 2002.

Survivors include six sons, Arthur G. “Buddy” Bouchard Jr. and his wife, Bonita, of Mexico, Wayne Bouchard and his wife, Joanne, of Rumford, Wilfred “Fred” Bouchard and his wife, June, of Pompano Beach, Fla., Keith Bouchard and his companion, Cindy Harris, of Rumford, Gerry Bouchard of Peru and Scott Bouchard and his wife, Brenda, of Mexico; two brothers, Rene Bouchard of Canton and Theodore Bouchard and his wife, Shirley, of Chicopee, Mass.; a sister, Annette Easter of Dixfield; nine grandchildren, Diane Russell, Paul Bouchard, Bryan Bouchard, Cory Bouchard, Jonathan Nisbet, Misty Marston, Jazmine Bouchard, Cameron Bouchard and Delaney Bouchard; and several great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; and two brothers, Emile Bouchard and Edward Bouchard.
