PORTLAND – The Maine Red Claws have announced the regular season schedule for their second season.

The NBA D-League team begins the season Friday, November 19 with a two-game homestand with Austin. The Red Claws play a 50-game schedule with 24 games at home, 24 on the road with a two-game league showcase at the South Padre Island Convention Center in Texas,  January 10-13.  After opening the season at home, the Red Claws have a trio of  games in Springfield before returning home December 3 to play Fort Wayne.

“We are proud of the success that the organization had in our inaugural season, including tying the league record for wins by a first-year team and 24 straight sellouts,” said Jennings. “There is no better atmosphere than at the Expo on a game day, and we are looking forward to Red Claws fans packing the house in season two. We have a lot of surprises in store for them this year. It’s going to be a great season.”

Of the 24 homes games at the Portland Expo, 18 of those games will be weekend dates. Eight are on Sunday with early start times. The team will also play a special day game on Thursday, February 24 during school vacation week at 1 p.m.

Among the opponents playing in Portland this year are the expansion Texas Legends, coached by Nancy Lieberman, the Idaho Stampede coached by former Red Claws assistant Randy Livingston, the 2010 NBA D-League champs Rio Grande Valley Vipers as well as the Austin Toros, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Springfield Armor, Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Tulsa 66ers and Iowa Energy.
