RUMFORD — The veterans’ advocate will not be at the Rumford V.A. Clinic on Thursday, Aug. 12. His next visit will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Thursday, Sept. 9.
Open house
DIXFIELD — There will be an open house for the new school facility sponsored by the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The open house will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at 58 Pine St in Dixfield. For more information, contact the principal at 562-1044.
Dance
RUMFORD — The Hope Association will host a Late Summer Dance from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the Armory. Admission is $1. Music will be provided by Joe the Music Man. The public is invited.
Benefit walk
RUMFORD — The Maine Children’s Cancer Program walk will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Hosmer Field Complex. It is Rumford’s seventh year of having a walk to help kids fight cancer.
There are many youngsters in the town and surrounding area who are fighting this disease. To participate in the walk or for more information, call Sandee Welch at 364-2548 or 418-9650, Dee Welch at 369-0619 or Debi Briggs at 364-2479.
