RUMFORD – The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston will offer a free workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers titled “Chakras: Your Seven Energy Centers.”

The workshop will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, in Rumford Hospital’s Conference Room C.

Presenter Emily Ecker, LCSW, outreach oncology social worker, will discuss the seven chakra system, based on ancient Eastern traditions. Learn about what they are and what colors, emotions and tones are associated with each one.
