NAPLES — A person pulled from the water on Brandy Pond on Wednesday night was believed to have drowned, police said later in the evening.

At about 6 p.m., Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies and Naples fire crews went to 36 Golf Club Road after a reported drowning.

There, deputies found the victim at the end of a private dock submerged in about 6 feet of water, according to a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department news release.

The Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded to the scene and recovered the body.

The name of the victim was not released as police began the process of notifying family members. The investigation was getting under way by sheriff’s officials and the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
