DURHAM — The Durham Historical Society will hold the final open day for the summer at The Union Church, Old Town Hall on Route 136. It will be open to the public from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. All are welcome to come and visit the historic building and view the many artifacts and exhibits.

Blood drive

WINTHROP — St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall on Route 133 will hold a community blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26. The drive is open to all donors and all are welcome. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. A form of identification is required.

Tree identification

LISBON — All are welcome to attend a fall walk at Beaver Park while learning to identify the various trees and shrubs that grow in the park. The program will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12. Verla Brooks, Lisbon park ranger and Ken Canfield, Maine district forester, will lead the walk.

Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather and expect to walk at least 1 to 1.5 miles. Hot drinks and refreshments will be available at the Lone Pine Lodge after the walk. Attendees should register by Sept. 10, by calling 353-9075 or e-mailing Brooks at vbrooks@lisbonme.org. The event will be held rain or shine.

Museum open

LITCHFIELD — The Old Town House Museum will be open for public tours from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. Guides will be available. The museum contains extensive collections of items relating to homes, farms and manufacturing in and around rural Litchfield. The museum is located on the Hallowell Road, just below the Sportsmens Club. The tours are sponsored by Historical Society of Litchfield.
