AUBURN — Dead Season will play an all-ages show at Club Texas on Saturday, Aug. 28, benefiting the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project. Proceeds from the 4 p.m. event will go toward domestic violence services.

Dead Season has shared the stage with many platinum-selling national acts such as Korn, Disturbed, Papa Roach and Buck Cherry.

Domestic violence affects thousands of women and men in Maine each year. Among the less visible victims are youth who are also at high risk for family violence and dating abuse.

Studies indicate that witnessing intimate partner violence is just as damaging to children and teens as experiencing the abuse themselves. And, nearly 1 in 4 children will experience some form of dating violence before graduating from high school, according to information provided by Jane Morrison, executive director of AWAP.

AWAP provides programming and advocacy for youth, including school-based education and youth groups. For more information or to access any services, call its 24-hour, free and confidential help line at 1-800-559-2927.

Tickets, $10, are available at all Bull Moose music store locations, at www.deadseasonmusic.com, or by contacting Lana Whittemore at 795-6744, ext. 14, or lwhittemore@awap.org. Club Texas is at 150 Center St.
