Accident

LEWISTON — A young boy in his mother’s parked car put the vehicle out of gear Saturday morning which prompted it to roll across a street, across a yard and into a building, Lewiston police said.

No one was seriously injured, but the building sustained several thousand dollars worth of damage; the vehicle, $800 in damages.

Becky S. St. Amand, 28, of 2 Tanglewood Drive, was on the passenger’s side of her 1998 Dodge cleaning it in her driveway at 9:19 a.m. Her 4-year-old son got in the driver’s side and pulled the shift, putting the car into neutral, according to a police report.

That prompted the 1998 Dodge to roll across Tanglewood Drive, across the yard of a home at 16 Wildwood Drive, then into that building.
