AUBURN — The L/A Senior Adult Hockey League played in Auburn, will be hosting their registrations for the women’s league on Monday, Aug. 16 and Monday, Aug. 23 from 6-9 p.m. at the Pond House near the Ingersoll Ice Arena in Auburn. The league is open to many levels of play, especially beginners. Must be 18 years of age.

The registration fee will remain at $355 per player and is due at time of registration. The registration is for all returning players as well as new players wanting to enter the league. All new players will have their names placed on the draft list. The player draft will be held on a later date.

The season is scheduled to start the beginning of October and end mid-March. Games will be played on Friday and Sunday nights.

The league is looking to expand this season so there are many openings, and is also in need of goaltenders. If any ladies out there are goalies or want to be a goalie, we would like to see you participate.

Ice Dawgs to hold tryout

LEWISTON — The Lewiston ice Dawgz Middle School hockey team, which plays in the Southern Maine Middle School Tier I league, will be holding tryouts soon for its sixth season. Any male of female in the sixth, seventh or eighth grade attending any school in Lewiston or Sabattus is eligible to try out.

The team asks that all potential team mambers pre-register with USA Hockey and bring a copy of that registration to the tryout. The season will consist of about 16 games and several practices.

The tryouts are slated for Sept. 12 at 8 a.m. at the Colisee in Lewiston. There will be a $20 non-refundable tryout fee, and the head coach of the team this season will be Keith Pomerleau. For more information or to pre-register, contact Luke Bourassa at 576-5347.
