Grange to meet
LIVERMORE — Members of the New Norlands Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the hall. Education Night will be observed during which the Grange will present a scholarship to Danielle LeClerc from Livermore Falls High School and one to Alana Davis from Jay High School.
The speaker for the evening will be Tim Madden from the school consolidation team. Refreshments will be served.
Yard sale
EAST DIXFIELD — Mystic Valley Grange, Route 2, will host a community yard and food sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21.
Donations of sale items, fresh vegetables, berries, baked goods or pickles would be appreciated. Crafters are welcome to set up a table for $5, bringing their own table if held outdoors. Call Hazel at 645-2423. Proceeds from the event are for Grange Hall modernization projects.
Open house
MADRID — The Madrid Historical Society will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21.
There will be a display of school room and historic items and photos of schools, people, homes and mills. The society is located in the former Madrid Village Schoolhouse, Reeds Mill Road.
