FRANKLIN, Va. — Joyce Ledoux Bridger, 45, passed away Aug. 14, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 30, 1965, in Waterville. She was graduation speaker at Winslow High School, a member of the National Honor Society, and a Presidential Scholar. Joyce graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1987, with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. She worked for Union Camp/International Paper for 22 years as a supervisor in the paper mill and the pulp mill. She was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church and shared her devout catholic faith with parishioners as well as the parish youth during Christian formations. The prayer group and parishioners at St. Jude’s was special to Joyce.

Joyce enjoyed her beach cottage on the Outer Banks, reading, making puzzles, teaching/learning, working in the yard, and spending time with friends and family, especially her children, Haley and Seth.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank Sterling Bridger; her daughter, Haley Brooke Edwards; her son, Seth Simms Edwards; parents, Richard R. and Irene B. Murray Ledoux of Lisbon; a sister, Karen LeClair (Peter) of Auburn; a brother, Eric Ledoux (Sarah) of West Gardiner; aunts, Mrs. Patricia Fox, Mr. and Mrs. William King and Mrs. Marilyn Murray; and many cousins, especially Danny Murray.
