LIVERMORE — The Tri-Town Community Action Group, formerly Crime Watch, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Livermore Town Office on Crash Road. The public is also welcome to attend.

Andre Marquis of the Androscoggin Unified Emergency Management Agency will speak on services the agency has available for the local area. Androscoggin Unified Emergency Management Agency is not only Androscoggin County’s EMA but is also for the cities of Lewiston and Auburn. The three teams are County Emergency Response Team, County Animal Response Team, and RACES, the county’s emergency amateur radio services.

Androscoggin Unified EMA is committed to helping all residents during an emergency. It has, in part, the following responsibilities:

— Prepare and maintain local, state and federally approved Emergency Disaster Plans.

— Assist businesses and other departments within the cities and county with developing contingency emergency plans.

— Locate and secure resources from within and outside the county.

— Regularly execute drills to ensure the highest possible state of readiness.

— Develop and maintain volunteer groups with appropriate training to assist in situations.

— Disseminate information regarding disaster and emergency preparedness.

Marquis has been employed at Androscoggin Unified EMA since 2007 and is now the emergency planner. He is also a member of the Sabattus Volunteer Fire Department, since 2006, and the former EMA director for the town of Sabattus.
