AUBURN — Work on Wednesday preparing Lake Street for a storm sewer separation project will detour traffic onto two residential streets.
The Auburn Sewer District is preparing to build a parallel storm sewer on Lake Street west of Park Avenue in a month.
Tracey Steuber, Auburn’s community relations specialist, said Auburn Public Works crews will be digging a trench for that project beginning at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in between Sunset Avenue and Nottingham Road.
“They need to dig a full trench and put in a trench box, so there’s lot of equipment that needs to be there,” she said.
Traffic will be detoured around the trench — up Nottingham Road, onto Adams Avenue and then to Sunset Avenue on Wednesday. Work is scheduled to wrap up by noon and Lake Street should reopen then.
