LEWISTON — A total of 46 Saint Anselm College students and staff will walk 130 miles in eight days starting Saturday, Aug. 21, when they leave Lewiston for Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. on the 12th annual Road for Hope.

The walkers will raise money for nine charities, many of which they will visit while on their journey. Road for Hope participants will return to campus on Saturday, Aug. 28, helping to mark the opening of a new academic year at Saint Anselm. They expect to raise at least $20,000.

Walkers will stay in a variety of accommodations while on their trek, sleeping on gym floors, in churches and parks.

Four Maine charities, including the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Auburn, will receive proceeds from the walk. To make a donation to the Road for Hope, contact campus ministry at Saint Anselm College, 603-641-7130.
