GARDINER —The Open Book Players will hold auditions for its fall production of “The Laramie Project” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at Johnson Hall.
The play by Moises Kaufman and Tectonic Theater Project members is about people’s reactions to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student, in Laramie, Wyo.
TTP members made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the two young men accused of killing Shepard. They conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of the town.
There are roles for male and female actors, ranging in age from late teens to late sixties.
