LEWISTON — Robert ‘Bob’ Atkins, 76, of Lewiston, passed away after a short illness on Aug. 18, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Bob was born on Sept. 9, 1933, in Lewiston, the son of Walter A. and Cecille J. (Plante) Atkins.

After school, he served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He lived in Lewiston all of his life. He worked at Box Work in Auburn until he retired. Of his many many interests, he especially enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, bowling, and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his children, Julie Atkins and husband, John Lorence, Catherine Gregoire and husband, Richard, James Atkins, Tonya Medlen and husband, Wayne, Tammy Johnson and husband, Jason and Carrie Boisse and husband, Jerry; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jeannie Atkins; brother, Walter Atkins; and grandson, Derrick Gardner.
