Benefit event

RUMFORD — A supper, dance and Chinese auction will be held on Friday, Aug. 27, at the Eagles. The dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and the menu will include chicken pie, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, cranberry sauce, coffee, punch and apple crisp. Cost is $7 for adults; 12 and under, $4.

The dance will be at 8 p.m. Cost is $7; $5 if having supper. Throughout the night there will be a Chinese auction and 50/50. All proceeds will help Debbie Dorr with costs she will incur during her five-week extensive treatment in Boston. For more information, call Kim at 364-7953.

Church celebration

DIXFIELD — There will be a “Jubilee” celebration at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the First Light Pentecostal Church, Route 2.

Following the service the church will host outdoor festivities with hot dogs, hamburgers and other goodies for everyone. For more information, call Pastor Phillip at 562-7813. The event will be held rain or shine.

LIVERMORE FALLS — Bingo will start back up at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the American Legion Post. Doors will open at 4 p.m.

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will host “The Incredible Years” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for six weeks starting Wednesday, Sept. 8.

The program supports parents and their babies by using a building block approach to learn how to observe and read babies cues and signals, understand babies as intelligent learners, learn ways to provide physical and tactile stimulation for babies and its importance for brain development, understand the importance of finding time for oneself to renew energy for parenting and understand babies development of object and person permanence.

Beedy reunion

AVON — The 63rd annual Beedy reunion for the descendants of Aaron and Vailette Dunham Beedy will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at the home of David and Greta Espeaignnette, 332 Mile Square Road.

Attendees are asked to bring a dish for the potluck dinner at noon, lawn chairs as well as Beedy treasures for the auction. Items for the family scrapbook are also appreciated. Call Greta at 639-2364 for directions or further information.
