BRIDGTON — R. David Frum, former president and CEO of Saint Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown, Ind., has been named the new president of Bridgton Hospital.

“We are very pleased that someone of David Frum’s experience and background has joined us,” said Central Maine Healthcare CEO Peter Chalke. “David will be a great resource for Bridgton Hospital and the entire Central Maine Medical Family.”

Prior to Saint Catherine, a 96-bed facility in a rural market north of Louisville, Ky., Frum was vice president of the Baptist Healthcare System in Louisville, and before that was a regional vice president for Christus Spohn Health System of Corpus Christi, Texas. He has experience in hospital management, medical staff relations, business development and strategic planning.

“It is an honor to join the Central Maine Healthcare Family and to be named president of Bridgton Hospital. Maine has long been a destination for my family, and we are excited to be settling into the community. I look forward to serving the hospital, the system and the region during this challenging time in health care,” said Frum.

Frum received his master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also earned a master’s degree in public administration from Louisiana State University, where he also received a bachelor’s degree.

He and his wife, Julie, have moved to Bridgton with their two daughters, Jessica, 9, and Rachel, 6.
