A refurbished flagpole was raised in a rededication ceremony Friday at the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 in Jay with help from Verso Paper Corp.’s Androscoggin Mill in Jay. Verso’s boon truck was used several weeks ago to take down the weather-worn, eight-year-old flagpole which received a new paint job, new cable and flags. After the flag was raised, Post Commander John Judd spoke, followed by a presentation of flags by the Color Guard.
