Bates College will commence the academic year of 1910-1911 on Wednesday, Sept. 21. This is a later date than the college opened in former years, owing to the change from three terms to the regular semester system, or two terms to a year. The academic year will contain the same number of weeks as formerly with the vacation in January. This gives Bates the same system as is now in vogue at Harvard and Yale and the other larger colleges.
