LEWISTON — Amgen’s Breakaway from Cancer, in partnership with The Dempsey Challenge, is seeking nominations of a cancer survivor who demonstrates a passion for helping others affected by cancer for the second annual Amgen Breakaway from Cancer Survivor Award.
The recipient of the award will be recognized at the Champions for Hope banquet hosted by Patrick Dempsey, as part of the Dempsey Challenge weekend celebration on Saturday, Oct. 2. The committee will accept nominations until noon on Friday, Aug. 27.
Nominations should be descriptive and offer information about the nominee using the following criteria: individual is a cancer survivor, lives and/or helps others in the Central Maine region, demonstrates a passion for helping others diagnosed with cancer, is actively involved in community outreach, inspires others by their demonstrated passion and will be able to attend and accept the award at the Dempsey Challenge Champions for Hope banquet.
Nominations are accepted at www.dempseychallenge.org. The award recipient will be notified Sept. 13. Registrations for The Dempsey Challenge are still being accepted.
