Phish, the quirky band with rabid followers, will play at the Civic Center in Augusta on Oct. 19.

In the late ’90s, the band drew tens of thousands to their shows at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, where crowds were said to have topped 60,000 per show.

The four-man band broke up in 2004 and stayed that way for five years. In 2009, they got back together and in August, played in Portland.

This year, they’ll be in the state capital. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Sept. 10, at noon and are $60 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 800.745.3000. Tickets can also be purchased at select TicketMaster outlets and at the venue Box Office.

A limited number of tickets are available directly through Phish Tickets’ online ticketing system at http://phish.portals.musictoday.com. The ticketing request period is currently underway and will end at noon Friday, Sept. 3.
