EAST HEBRON — Mayor Merrill of Auburn, Republican nominee for sheriff, George S. McCarty of Lewiston, candidate for county attorney, and John L. Reade of Lewiston, candidate for clerk of courts, addressed a republican rally held at this place tonight. About 70 persons were in attendance, including several Democrats and a few ladies.

Keith W. Cunningham, president of Bliss College, Lewiston, announced Monday the appointment of four new faculty members to the Division of Arts and Sciences.
Mrs. Karl S. N. Arndt of Lewiston has been appointed as instructor of French. Jesse W. Harkless of North Windham has been appointed as instructor of English. Clarence R. Reid of West Paris has been appointed instructor of humanities and history and Thomas W. Wilson has been named instructor of English and psychology in the Division of Arts and Sciences.

FARMINGTON — “A quaint dress shop with personality” is the way new store owner Rita Campbell describes Rita’s which opens Friday on Front Street.
Rita Campbell is opening the business which will cater to the “working woman.”
Campbell says she has shopped for versatile and affordable garments, coordinated to build a wardrobe for daytime and evening wear.
