DENMARK — Poland Spring Water Co. has awarded a $10,000 Good Neighbor Grant to the Denmark Public Library.

The grant will help the library purchase new reading materials and furnishings and offer a new online audio book service via the library website, according to Chris Gouterman, president of the Board of Trustees. Other anticipated improvements include replacing two computers and upgrading others.

The Denmark Public Library operates as a nonprofit and relies on support from individual donors, the town of Denmark and volunteers to provide library services to the community.

Poland Spring’s Good Neighbor Grant program provides funding to organizations and causes focused on the environment, education, health and wellness, and emergency relief, as well as to local community needs. In 2009, Poland Spring gave more than $850,000 in community grants to 72 Maine causes and organizations.
