As a campaign worker for Rep. David Van Wie, I recently chauffeured him around Durham as he visited with residents. One such conversation made a substantial impression on me.

A gentleman commented that he had strongly supported the incumbent who opposed Van Wie in the last election. However, this time around he pledged his vote and added, “I’ve heard nothing but good things about you.”

As a freshman state representative, Van Wie served as a member of the Utilities and Energy Committee in the 124th Legislature. He was recognized as a unifying influence behind mediations regarding critical energy and jobs legislation that led to unanimous, bipartisan support within the committee.

Voters in New Gloucester, Durham and a part of Lisbon comprising House District 105 can be assured that Van Wie would continue to serve effectively if re-elected.
