What a pleasure to read the front page of the Sun Journal on Aug. 24. It was most heartening to read about the generosity of the Gendron family in donating money and to spearhead a fundraiser to keep the YWCA in full operation.
And community spirit lives in the efforts of the staff and players of the Maineiacs and so many others to restore monuments to their rightful places in the Riverside Cemetery.
I say thank you to the Gendron family, the Maineiacs and to all who helped in any manner.
