LEWISTON — Rita L. Landry, 88, passed away at Marshwood Living Center on Friday, Aug. 27,with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Feb. 16, 1922, in Madawaska, the daughter of Victorie and Azeline (Michaud) Lizotte. She married Alfred Landry, the love of her life, on Aug. 21, 1939, and shared 60 years together until his passing in 1999.

She lived most of her life in Auburn until her husband retired in 1980, at which time they then moved to Lewiston. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and knitting and loved the visits of family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Martin and his wife, Sharon Landry, of Auburn, and Philip and his wife, Debbie Landry, of Esko, Minn.; four daughters, Coreen and Hervey Bosse of Plainville, Conn., Joan Landry of Lewiston, Bernice and husband,  Ronald Santomango, of Lewiston, and Claudette Landry of Terriville, Conn. She leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two children, a daughter, Rolande, and a son, Robert.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all the lives she touched.
